Trips from Dubai and trips inside Abu Dhabi

How your trip runs depends on where it starts. Assure is RTA licensed in Dubai, so a car that leaves Dubai runs in our own fleet. A trip that starts and ends inside Abu Dhabi needs a car licensed in the capital, so we arrange it on request through our partner network.

Your trip How it runs
Dubai hotel, home, DXB or DWC to Abu Dhabi, one way Our own car and chauffeur, under the RTA licence
A day hire from Dubai that waits in Abu Dhabi and drives you back Our own car and chauffeur, booked by the hour
Pickup at Zayed International, Al Bateen or an Abu Dhabi hotel On request, through our partner network, subject to availability
Hourly hire that starts and ends inside Abu Dhabi On request, through our partner network, subject to availability

For the road itself, the E11 between the two cities, see our Dubai to Abu Dhabi transfer page.

How long does it take to get around Abu Dhabi?

Most of the capital’s landmarks sit within 20 minutes of the Corniche. Yas Island and the airport are the outliers, about half an hour east. The figures below are road distances and drive times without traffic, from the OSRM route planner on OpenStreetMap data.

From Corniche Beach to Road distance Without traffic
Emirates Palace about 4 km 6 min
Qasr Al Watan about 5 km 7 min
Al Maryah Island (ADGM) about 8 km 10 min
Louvre Abu Dhabi, Saadiyat about 11 km 12 min
ADNEC Centre about 14 km 13 min
Al Bateen Executive Airport about 16 km 16 min
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque about 17 km 14 min
Saadiyat Beach about 18 km 18 min
Yas Marina Circuit about 34 km 28 min
Zayed International, Terminal A about 36 km 29 min

Coming from Dubai, the start point matters more than the destination. Dubai Marina is about 20 km closer to the capital than Downtown Dubai.

To From Dubai Marina From Downtown Dubai
Yas Marina Circuit about 96 km, 1 h 3 min about 116 km, 1 h 17 min
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque about 108 km, 1 h 7 min about 128 km, 1 h 22 min
ADNEC Centre about 113 km, 1 h 9 min about 133 km, 1 h 23 min
Louvre Abu Dhabi about 115 km, 1 h 11 min about 135 km, 1 h 25 min
The Corniche about 123 km, 1 h 17 min about 143 km, 1 h 31 min

The Grand Mosque, Qasr Al Watan and the Louvre fit into one sightseeing day. Our Abu Dhabi city tour packages those stops with the car.

Where your chauffeur meets you at Zayed International

Abu Dhabi International Airport became Zayed International on 9 February 2024, and the code stayed AUH. Flights moved into Terminal A during November 2023, and it has been fully operational since 15 November that year. It is built for up to 45 million travellers a year. Your chauffeur waits in the Terminal A arrivals hall with your name on a board, and VIP guests are welcomed personally.

Terminal A sits on the Yas Island side of the airport. From the terminal forecourt, Yas Marina Circuit is about 7 km and 12 minutes away. The Grand Mosque is about 20 km, ADNEC 24 km and the Corniche 36 km. Flight tracking, waiting time and the Terminal A walk-through are on our Zayed International pickup page.

Private jets can also use Al Bateen Executive Airport (AZI) on Abu Dhabi island. Jetex runs its terminal in Al Muntazah around the clock, and lists customs and immigration among its FBO services. From Al Bateen, Yas Marina Circuit is about 25 km and Emirates Palace about 18 km. Send the tail number and FBO as described on our private jet terminal transfers page.

Taxi, app ride or chauffeur in Abu Dhabi?

Abu Dhabi’s silver taxis follow a tariff set by Abu Dhabi Mobility. Day rates apply from 6:00 to 22:00 and night rates from 22:00 to 6:00.

Charge Day Night
Flag fall AED 5.00 AED 5.50
Per km AED 1.82 AED 1.82
Per minute of waiting AED 0.50 AED 0.50
Minimum fare AED 12 AED 12
Booking fee AED 4.00 AED 5.00

Airport taxis start at AED 20 flag fall, then the same per-km rate. The Abu Dhabi Mobility taxi fares page lists the full tariff.

Formula 1 weekend on Yas Island

Formula 1 lists the 2026 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix for 4 to 6 December at Yas Marina Circuit. Roads onto Yas Island are at their busiest before the evening sessions and after the race. Agree a return pickup point with your chauffeur before you walk in.

From Dubai Marina the circuit is about 96 km, or 1 hour 3 minutes on a clear road. On race days, leave well before that. Race weekend planning is on our Abu Dhabi Grand Prix chauffeur page.

ADIPEC at ADNEC Centre

ADIPEC 2026 runs from 2 to 5 November across the 16 halls of ADNEC Centre. The organiser states that on-site parking is not available, and sends drivers to Park and Ride. Taxis set down at Marina Hall (Hall 16) near Car Park E, or opposite the Aloft hotel in the Embassies area.

A chauffeur removes the Park and Ride step. The organiser publishes no separate point for private cars, so your chauffeur follows the marshals on the day. ADNEC is about 13 minutes from the Corniche and 1 hour 23 minutes from Downtown Dubai without traffic. Delegation planning is covered on our ADIPEC chauffeur page.

Which car for your group

Passengers means guests, not counting the chauffeur. Large bags are checked suitcases that fit with every seat in use.

Class Example models Passengers Large bags
Business sedan Lexus ES 300h 3 2
First class sedan Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series 3 2
Luxury SUV GMC Yukon, Cadillac Escalade 6 3
Van Mercedes-Benz V-Class 6 4
Minibus Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, 13 or 19 seats 13 to 19 3 to 6
Ultra luxury Rolls-Royce Ghost, Bentley Flying Spur 3 2

The Rolls-Royce and Bentley are available through our partner network, subject to availability. For an evening car or a wedding arrival, see our limousine service in Abu Dhabi.

How to book a chauffeur in Abu Dhabi

  1. Send the date, start time and pickup address on WhatsApp or in the trip form.
  2. Add the hours you need, or the drop-off for a one-way transfer.
  3. Give the number of passengers and bags, and the car class you want.
  4. For an AUH pickup, add your flight number so the chauffeur follows the real landing time.
  5. Accept the quote on WhatsApp to confirm. For trips that start in Abu Dhabi, we confirm the partner car first.

What sets the price

  • Where the trip starts: Dubai, Zayed International or an Abu Dhabi address.
  • A fixed transfer or a number of hours, and the kilometres between stops.
  • The car class and how many cars your group needs.
  • The date: race weekend, ADIPEC week and late-night returns.
  • Road tolls on the way, Salik in Dubai and Darb in Abu Dhabi.

Questions and answers

How can I find a private chauffeur in Abu Dhabi?

Check three things before you book: who licenses the car, where the trip starts and what the price covers. Assure is RTA licensed with 10+ years in business, and trips that start in Dubai run in our own cars. For a car based in Abu Dhabi, send your date and pickup on WhatsApp and we confirm a partner car, subject to availability.

How much does it cost to hire a driver in Abu Dhabi?

There is no fixed rate, so we quote each trip on WhatsApp. The price depends on where the trip starts, the hours or the route, the car class and the date. A day from Dubai Marina to the Grand Mosque and back covers about 217 km before any stops, so mileage is part of the quote. Race weekend and ADIPEC week book up early.

How do I book a chauffeur drive in Abu Dhabi?

Send the date, start time and pickup address on WhatsApp at +971 56 684 8148, or use the trip form on this page. Add the hours or the drop-off, and the number of passengers and bags. Say which car class you want. You get a quote for the whole car, and the booking is confirmed once you accept it on WhatsApp.

Which is cheaper in Abu Dhabi, Uber or taxi?

It depends on the hour and demand. Abu Dhabi Mobility publishes the taxi meter: AED 5 flag fall by day, AED 5.50 at night, AED 1.82 per km and a AED 12 minimum. Uber and Careem show their fare in the app before you book, so compare the two for a short solo hop. For a group or a day of stops, a car that waits often costs less than several metered taxis.

Can a Dubai chauffeur pick me up at Zayed International Airport?

Drop-offs at Terminal A that start in Dubai run under our RTA licence in our own cars. A pickup at Terminal A starts inside Abu Dhabi, so we arrange it on request through our partner network, subject to availability. Send your flight number and drop-off, and we confirm the car before you fly. The chauffeur waits in arrivals with your name on a board.

Can I keep the car for a full day in Abu Dhabi?

Yes. Book it by the hour from your Dubai pickup and the chauffeur stays with you through the day, waiting at each stop. One day can pair the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque with Qasr Al Watan, 5 km from the Corniche, and the Louvre on Saadiyat. Allow about 1 hour 10 to 1 hour 30 minutes each way between Dubai and the capital.
