This is the first GITEX at Expo City, which Dubai Media Office calls the show’s new home. Dubai World Trade Centre hosts only the Summit day in 2026. We update the table for the next edition when gitex.com publishes its dates, and not before.
Where is the drop-off for GITEX Global?
At the Dubai Exhibition Centre, the organiser allows private cars to drop off only at designated points, including the South Drop-Off. Follow the signs and the traffic marshals.
The site has three transport points, each with its own job.
- South Drop-Off: private cars, the direct DWTC to Expo City buses, official event buses and the overflow parking shuttles.
- Transportation Hub: taxis, hotel buses, exhibitor shuttles and destination buses.
- Expo 2020 Metro station: the Red Line and RTA buses, with a walkway to the halls.
The organiser names no separate pickup point for private cars after the show. Agree the return spot with your chauffeur in the morning, then message the driver on WhatsApp when you leave the hall.
Is there parking at GITEX Global?
Yes, at Expo City. Visitor parking is in P1 to P5. The organiser also lists Mobility Parking and Airshow Overflow Parking, and shuttles run from the overflow car parks to the South Drop-Off.
- Charges: not published by the organiser when we checked on 17 October 2026. Check before you drive.
- Park and Ride: car parks at Centrepoint, e& and National Paints Metro stations, and the Al Kifaf multistorey car park by Max station. From there, the Red Line runs to Expo 2020.
- Summit day: Dubai World Trade Centre has on-site parking with EV charging bays.
With a chauffeur you are set down at the South Drop-Off and never look for a bay or a shuttle from overflow parking. Our guide to Expo City parking zones covers the car parks in more detail.
How do you get to GITEX by Metro?
Both GITEX venues are on the Red Line.
- Summit, 7 December: World Trade Centre station.
- Expo, 8 to 11 December: Expo 2020 station, then a 5 to 10 minute walk to the halls.
- Board the right train. The organiser warns that two Red Line trains can arrive at the same platform. Take the one going to Expo 2020.
- Pay with a Nol card. The organiser suggests a Silver or Gold card for several days.

Road closures: none announced on gitex.com when we checked on 17 October 2026. The organiser says vehicle routes and drop-off arrangements may change with operations, so check RTA notices the week before.
Moving between the Summit and the Expo venues
The Summit and the Expo are about 42 km apart by road, roughly 40 minutes without traffic on OSRM routing. The organiser runs direct shuttles from DWTC to the Dubai Exhibition Centre.

If you attend both, your hotel choice matters. A hotel near Sheikh Zayed Road suits Summit day; Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah sit closer to Expo City for the 4 Expo days. One chauffeur booking can cover the Summit morning at DWTC and the Expo days that follow.
Drive times to the Expo City venue
We ran these routes through OSRM on OpenStreetMap on 17 October 2026; the times assume empty roads. Show days add traffic on the roads into Expo City.
| From | Road distance | Without traffic |
|---|---|---|
| Al Maktoum International (DWC) | about 21 km | about 30 minutes |
| Dubai Marina | about 22 km | about 24 minutes |
| Palm Jumeirah | about 28 km | about 29 minutes |
| Downtown Dubai | about 39 km | about 37 minutes |
| Dubai World Trade Centre | about 42 km | about 40 minutes |
| Dubai International (DXB) | about 52 km | about 56 minutes |
| Sharjah city centre | about 66 km | about 54 minutes |
| Zayed International (AUH) | about 90 km | about 1 hour 5 minutes |
| Abu Dhabi city centre | about 114 km | about 1 hour 15 minutes |
Flying in for GITEX: DXB or DWC
Al Maktoum International is the nearer airport to Expo City, about 21 km away. Dubai International is about 52 km away, but it is the closer airport for Summit day at DWTC. The organiser puts DXB to DWTC at about 15 minutes by taxi.
At either airport your chauffeur waits in the arrivals hall with your name on a board, helps with the bags and drives you to the venue or your hotel. See arrivals at Dubai International and pickups at Al Maktoum International.
If you are travelling as a team, our exhibitor team transport plan and conference delegate transport plan list what to settle early. For the Metro, see the nol card guide.

Questions and answers
When and where is GITEX Global 2026?
GITEX Global 2026 runs from 7 to 11 December. The Summit is on Monday 7 December at Dubai World Trade Centre. The Expo follows from Tuesday 8 to Friday 11 December at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City Dubai. It is the first edition at Expo City, which Dubai Media Office calls the show's new home.
How do I get to GITEX Global?
For the Expo days, take the Red Line to Expo 2020 station, drive to visitor parking P1 to P5, use Park and Ride from four Metro station car parks, or be dropped at the South Drop-Off. Careem and Uber run 24/7 at both venues. Expo City is about 39 km by road from Downtown Dubai, roughly 37 minutes without traffic.
Where is the drop-off for GITEX Global?
At Expo City, the organiser allows private cars to drop off only at designated points, including the South Drop-Off, and asks drivers to follow signs and traffic marshals. The South Drop-Off is also where the DWTC to Expo City buses and the overflow parking shuttles stop. For Summit day at Dubai World Trade Centre, the organiser lists parking but no drop-off point, so agree the set-down spot with your chauffeur.
Is there parking at GITEX Global, and what does it cost?
Yes. Expo City has visitor parking in P1 to P5, plus overflow parking, Mobility Parking and Airshow Overflow Parking with shuttles where available. The organiser had not published 2026 charges when we checked on 17 October 2026, so confirm them before you drive. Dubai World Trade Centre has on-site parking with EV bays for Summit day.
How do you get to GITEX by Metro?
Both venues are on the Red Line. For the Summit, get off at World Trade Centre station. For the Expo, ride to Expo 2020 station, then walk 5 to 10 minutes to the halls. The organiser warns that two Red Line trains can arrive at the same platform, so board the one going to Expo 2020. You need a Nol card.
Where do taxis and chauffeur cars drop off and pick up?
Taxis at Expo City run from the Transportation Hub, which also handles hotel buses, exhibitor shuttles and destination buses. Private cars use the South Drop-Off and other signed points. The organiser does not name a separate private-car pickup point, so agree the return spot with your chauffeur and message the driver on WhatsApp when you leave the hall.
How long is the drive from DXB, DWC, Downtown Dubai and Abu Dhabi?
Without traffic, Expo City is about 21 km and 30 minutes from Al Maktoum International (DWC), 39 km and 37 minutes from Downtown Dubai, 52 km and 56 minutes from Dubai International (DXB), and 114 km and about 1 hour 15 minutes from central Abu Dhabi. These are OSRM figures; show-day traffic on the approach roads adds time.
