Most “S-Class rental Dubai” results are self-drive firms that hand over the keys. Assure works the other way: your S-Class arrives with a chauffeur, who drives, waits and loads the bags. The S-Class is part of the Assure fleet, not a partner car.

Who the S-Class suits, and who it does not

The long-wheelbase rear bench takes 3 adults. With all 3 seats in use, the boot holds 2 large suitcases and 2 cabin bags. That covers a couple on a week’s holiday, or 2 or 3 colleagues with cases and laptop bags.

It does not suit a family of 4 with a suitcase each, because the S-Class has only 3 passenger seats in the rear. For that trip the Mercedes V-Class seats 6 and takes 4 large cases.

The S-Class rear cabin, option by option

Mercedes-Benz Middle East lists these for the current S-Class. Several are options, so each car differs.

• AIRMATIC air suspension with automatic level control that adjusts to the load in the car.
• 4-zone climate control with separate rear zones (option).
• Reclining rear seat with folding tables (option). The First-Class rear compartment adds a full-length centre console with a 7-inch MBUX rear tablet and a 10 L refrigerated compartment.
• Rear entertainment touchscreens (option).
• Chauffeur package (option): the front passenger seat slides further forward and its head restraint folds down, opening legroom behind it.
• Panoramic sliding sunroof (option).

What the S-Class is booked for

• Airport arrivals: at Dubai International, the chauffeur waits in the arrivals hall holding a board with your name, then helps with your bags and walks you to the S-Class.
• Corporate days: board meetings and roadshows, with an S-Class booked for each day of a corporate account.
• Intercity: the run from Dubai to Abu Dhabi is about 139 km, roughly 1 hour 30 minutes by road.
• Evenings and events: galas, hotel dinners and weddings, with the chauffeur parked nearby for the ride home.
