How is bus hire priced in the UAE?
Operators price bus hire in one of three ways:
| Type | Used for | How it is counted |
|---|---|---|
| Per transfer | One airport run or one hotel-to-venue leg | Fixed for the route and the vehicle |
| Half day | A shuttle loop, a short site visit | A block of about 4 to 5 hours |
| Full day | A tour, a conference day, a trip to Abu Dhabi | A block of about 8 to 10 hours |
The driver comes with the bus. The RTA lists Short Term Bus Rental among its business services, so a larger vehicle is hired as a managed service, not as a self-drive car.
Assure does not print bus rates, and neither should you trust a single price quoted without a date and route. We quote on WhatsApp once we know the facts below.
Which sizes are available? 14, 23, 30, 35, 50 and 55 seats
Sizes in the UAE cluster around a few seat counts.

| Size | Typical vehicle | Luggage | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| 13 to 14 seats | Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 13 seats, Ford Transit | About 3 to 6 cases | Executive teams, small delegations |
| 19 seats | Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 19 seats | About 3 cases | Office outings, short city runs |
| 22 to 23 seats | Toyota Coaster | No separate hold | City shuttles and tours without bags |
| 35 seats | Standard coach | About 15 cases | Airport groups, half-day tours |
| 50 seats | Full-size coach | About 35 cases | Conferences, large airport waves |
Sprinters are available from our own fleet. The Coaster and coaches are available through our partner network, subject to availability. Models vary by partner. A 55-seat coach exists on the wider market, but confirm it with the operator for your date.
For the choice between two close sizes, read what size of bus suits group transport in the UAE and the comparison of the Toyota HiAce and the Toyota Coaster.
What changes the price?
Five things move a bus quote.
- Seat count and coach grade. More seats and a newer coach cost more. A coach with reclining seats and a microphone sits above a basic commuter bus.
- Hours. Pay for the time the vehicle is booked, not only the time it moves.
- Route and distance. A loop of 10 km inside Dubai differs from a trip to Fujairah or Ras Al Khaimah.
- Date. Weekends, public holidays and big exhibition weeks can cost more.
- Extras. A second driver, an English-speaking host, a sign and an extra stop each add a line.
The fleet pages show the seat counts we can supply.
Is the driver always included?
On every Assure bus quote, yes. The quote also says what the driver’s day covers. Ask whether fuel, tolls (Salik), parking and the driver’s meal break are in the price, and whether waiting time is billed after a set limit.
If an operator offers a bus without a driver, ask for the RTA permit that allows it. Treat a quote that is silent on the driver as incomplete.
What do intercity and Abu Dhabi trips add?
A trip out of Dubai adds distance, tolls and driver hours. Dubai to Abu Dhabi is about 140 km one way, depending on the start point, and usually takes 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours. A day in Abu Dhabi with stops at Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and Yas Island is a full-day booking. A transfer that starts and ends in another emirate may need a partner licensed there, which we confirm per booking. See the bus rental page for routes.

Peak weeks and minimum hours
Peak weeks vary: New Year, big exhibitions such as GITEX, and some holiday weekends. Many operators also set a minimum booking, often a half day. Ask for both in writing. Booking early gives more choice of coach, because partner vehicles are subject to availability.
What should a bus quote spell out?
Ask every operator to put these in writing:
- Vehicle seat count and make, or the range if the partner varies.
- Date, start time, end time and the pickup and drop-off addresses.
- Driver included, fuel included, tolls and parking included or not.
- Minimum hours and the charge for each extra hour.
- Waiting time allowed, and the charge after it.
- Cancellation terms and the replacement-vehicle plan.
- The licence category of the driver, on request.
Compare quotes line by line, not by the headline total. For sizing, use how many vehicles you need for a group event. For daily staff runs, see worker transport rules in the UAE. For event shuttles, see the conference delegate transport plan. Companies can open an account on our corporate page. The wider picture is in the corporate ground transport guide.
