Which cruise terminal will your ship use?
Dubai has two cruise ports, about 32 km apart by road.
- Mina Rashid (Port Rashid): the Hamdan bin Mohammed Cruise Terminal, on the Bur Dubai waterfront. DP World says it can berth seven ships, or 27,000 passengers, at once. Our guide to the Mina Rashid cruise terminal covers drop-off and airport timing.
- Dubai Harbour: in Marsa Dubai, between Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah. See the Dubai Harbour cruise terminal guide.
Your cruise documents name the port. We could not find an official 2026 to 2027 call list, so send us your ship and date when you ask for a quote.

Mina Rashid: what is close, and drive times to the sights
Mina Rashid sits at the north end of Bur Dubai, so Old Dubai is on the doorstep. These are drive times without traffic, from the OSRM router on OpenStreetMap data, checked on 17 October 2026.
| From Mina Rashid to | Road distance | Without traffic |
|---|---|---|
| Al Fahidi and the Creek | about 7 km | 15 min |
| Downtown, Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall | about 13 km | 21 min |
| Burj Al Arab area | about 26 km | 30 min |
| Dubai Marina | about 32 km | 35 min |
| Atlantis, The Palm | about 36 km | 41 min |
This port suits a morning at Al Fahidi, an abra across the Creek and the souks. Our abra ride guide shows the stations.

Dubai Harbour: what is close, and drive times to the sights
Dubai Harbour is nearer the beach end of the city. The Marina and JBR are a short drive away.
| From Dubai Harbour to | Road distance | Without traffic |
|---|---|---|
| Dubai Marina | about 3 km | 6 min |
| Palm Jumeirah, the trunk | about 7 km | 11 min |
| Burj Al Arab area | about 8 km | 13 min |
| Atlantis, The Palm | about 11 km | 17 min |
| Downtown Dubai | about 21 km | 22 min |
| Deira, at Al Rigga | about 30 km | 29 min |
From here, plan the coast first and Downtown second.

Port-day plans for 6, 8 and 10 hours ashore
Leave the ship at the time your line releases your group, not at docking. Count back from the all-aboard time.
6 hours. From Mina Rashid: Al Fahidi and an abra crossing, then Downtown for the Burj Khalifa from outside and the Dubai Mall. From Dubai Harbour: the Marina walk, a Palm Jumeirah drive and the Atlantis end. Keep the car close to the ship.
8 hours. Add a second district. Combine Old Dubai with Downtown from Mina Rashid. From Dubai Harbour, add a drive east to the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall. A Dubai city tour follows this shape.
10 hours. Mix coast and Old Dubai, with a long lunch. Our list of places to visit in Dubai groups sights by area so you do not backtrack.

Can you do a desert safari on a port day?
Not on a short call. A typical evening safari collects mid-afternoon and returns after dinner, and the dunes at Lahbab are about 48 km from Downtown. Add the port leg and the drive does not fit a 10-hour call.
On an overnight call, a desert safari can work. Compare morning vs evening desert safari to see which fits your sailing hours.
Back on board on time: how the pickup and return work
Tell us your ship, the terminal and your all-aboard time. Your chauffeur waits on the road side of the terminal with a board showing your name, and confirms the exact spot on WhatsApp on the morning you dock. We could not find terminal vehicle-access rules on the port operators’ sites, so we confirm them for your date.
Agree a leave-by time at your last stop. Add a margin for Dubai’s traffic. Our guide to Dubai rush hour shows the slow windows.
Ship tour, shared tour or private car?
- Ship tour: the line coordinates with the ship, which is useful on a tight call.
- Shared tour: a set route and times, with other guests.
- Private car: your stops, your pace, one car for your group. See private tours or book a car with driver by the hour.
