The Dubai Shopping Festival turns the city’s malls into a six-week sale with raffles, concerts and street events. The hard part is not finding a shop. It is getting between four or five of them without circling a car park each time.
When is the Dubai Shopping Festival 2026 to 2027?
Visit Dubai lists the 32nd edition from 4 December 2026 to 17 January 2027. That is 45 days, according to TradeArabia’s report of the organiser’s announcement on 14 October 2026. The organiser is Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment.
Last season ran from 6 December 2025 to 12 January 2026, so dates shift each year. Some travel blogs still show estimates from earlier years.
The organiser says the full line-up follows within a month. What it has named so far:
- etisalat DSF Nights
- DSF x Hatta Wadi Hub, for the Hatta side of the festival
- DSF Auto Season, which continues into January
- etisalat MOTB
- Beach Canteen at Sunset Beach, new this year
Which malls and markets take part?
As of 17 October 2026 the organiser had not named participating malls. Its announcement speaks of citywide promotions, mall activations and raffles. Check each mall’s own page before you plan a route around a specific offer.

For planning, these are the stops most shoppers link together:
| Stop | Area | Why people go |
|---|---|---|
| The Dubai Mall | Downtown | Largest mall, near Burj Khalifa and the fountain |
| Mall of the Emirates | Al Barsha | Department stores, near Sheikh Zayed Road |
| Deira City Centre | Deira | Mid-range brands, close to Dubai Creek |
| Dubai Festival City Mall | Festival City | Near the creek, 10 km from Downtown |
| Gold Souk | Deira | Traditional market, evening trade |
Whether the souks join the festival this year is not confirmed. Ask your hotel or the shop.
How do you plan a DSF shopping day by car?
Group stops by area and keep the long drive for the end of the day. These legs are OSRM free-flow figures from The Dubai Mall, checked on 17 October 2026.

| Leg | Distance | Free-flow time |
|---|---|---|
| Dubai Mall to Mall of the Emirates | about 16 km | about 16 minutes |
| Dubai Mall to Deira City Centre | about 11 km | about 13 minutes |
| Dubai Mall to Dubai Festival City | about 10 km | about 10 minutes |
| Dubai Mall to Gold Souk | about 18 km | about 19 minutes |
| Dubai Mall to City Walk | about 3 km | about 5 minutes |
Festival evenings and weekends run slower than these numbers. Add time to each leg, especially after 5pm on a Friday or Saturday.
Three sample days:
- Downtown day. Dubai Mall, then City Walk for dinner. The legs are short, so the car mostly saves you carrying bags.
- Creek day. Deira City Centre in the morning, Gold Souk after the heat drops, then Dubai Festival City.
- West day. Mall of the Emirates, then onward to the Marina or Ibn Battuta, about 16 km further on.
A car with driver by the hour works for each. Message the plan on WhatsApp and we confirm a vehicle and hours.
Where is parking hardest during DSF?
The Dubai Mall is the pinch point. Its parking page lists Fashion, Cinema, Zabeel and Fountain Views zones, all shown as limited. Rates on the page include 5% VAT. Examples: AED 75 for Zabeel P5, and AED 150 on weekdays or AED 200 at weekends for normal parking at Fashion Avenue. The page shows no free hours.
Paid parking at Dubai Mall has run through Salik since 2024, and the rules have moved since. Read the page on the day. Our Dubai Mall pickup points guide shows where a driver sets you down and collects you, so you skip the car park queue. For the wider city picture, see the Dubai parking guide.
DSF fireworks and drone show nights
No DSF fireworks or drone show dates were announced for this edition on 17 October 2026. Last season’s programme included a 4,000-drone Tetris final at Dubai Frame, according to TradeArabia. Treat any date you see before the organiser’s programme as a rumour.
New Year’s Eve falls inside the festival and closes roads around Downtown. Read the New Year’s Eve road closures guide before you book a car for 31 December.
If your festival plans include evenings out, our Dubai Opera parking and drop-off guide covers the Downtown venue most visitors pair with shopping. Global Village also runs through the winter. See its opening times.
Is hourly car hire worth it for shopping days?
It depends on the stops. One mall: take a taxi or the Metro. Three or more stops, bags, children or a late finish: a car by the hour is usually simpler. Compare how hourly and point-to-point booking differ in our hourly vs transfer guide.
Vehicle choice follows luggage:
| Group | Vehicle | Note |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 3 | Mercedes-Benz S-Class or similar sedan | Room for bags in the boot |
| 4 to 6 | GMC Yukon or Mercedes-Benz V-Class | More boot space for bags |
| 7 to 13 | Mercedes-Benz Sprinter | Family or office group |
Larger groups can use a bus through our partner network, subject to availability. Browse our limousine service for the sedans, our chauffeur service for the wider offer, and the events service for the full calendar.
DSF checklist
- Dates checked on Visit Dubai, and the programme re-checked in mid-November.
- Stops grouped by area, with the longest leg last.
- Pickup point agreed for each mall by WhatsApp.
- Hours booked with a buffer for traffic and queues.
- Raffle terms read in each shop, because entry rules differ.
- A plan for New Year’s Eve, if you are in town on 31 December.
