What does the Maybach add over a long-wheelbase S-Class?
Space for the passenger behind the driver, and little else you notice from outside. Mercedes-Benz states the Maybach wheelbase is 18 cm longer than the long S-Class, and that all of it goes to the rear. That is why the car feels calm at the back and why the rear doors are the focus.

Rear seat: recline, leg rest and the fridge
The Executive rear seats power-recline up to 43 degrees per Mercedes-Benz USA, with a power calf rest and a footrest. Rear controls can also move the front passenger seat forward when no one sits there. Many cars add rear screens, a refrigerated compartment and two folding tables. These are options, so a given car may not have all of them.
Maybach S 580, S 680 and the Maybach GLS 600
The S-Class Maybach is a saloon. The Maybach GLS 600 is an SUV with two rows only, per Mercedes-Benz, and it can be a four-seater with a fixed centre console. It suits a guest who wants the height of an SUV and the executive rear. For a larger group, see Escalade vs Yukon.

Is a Maybach a chauffeur car?

When is the upgrade worth it?

- Short hops: Not worth it. a standard S-Class is quiet enough.
