Palm Jumeirah wedding venues: arrival, drop-off and drive times

Every Palm Jumeirah wedding venue is reached from Sheikh Zayed Road by the one trunk, and Atlantis The Palm and Atlantis The Royal sit on the crescent at the far end. From Downtown it is about 26 km and 27 minutes without traffic, from Dubai Marina about 10 km and 15 minutes. Allow extra time on wedding evenings.

How do you get to a Palm Jumeirah wedding venue?

Palm Jumeirah is an island joined to the mainland by the trunk, a single central road. Cars leave Sheikh Zayed Road (E11), drive up the trunk, and then pass under the crescent through the tunnel to the outer arc, where Atlantis The Palm and Atlantis The Royal stand.

The monorail runs from the Palm Gateway to Atlantis Aquaventure. It is not a way to move a wedding party, and we could not confirm its hours with the operator. For the airport side of the trip, read DXB to Palm Jumeirah.

Atlantis The Palm and Atlantis The Royal: the crescent run

Both resorts sit on the crescent, at the far end of the trunk. This is the longest part of any Palm journey, and the one that grows on a wedding evening when several events share it.

From To Atlantis The Palm To Atlantis The Royal
DXB Terminal 3 about 36 km, 36 min a few minutes more
DXB Terminal 1 about 40 km, 39 min about 42 km, 43 min
Downtown Dubai about 26 km, 27 min about 28 km, 29 min
Dubai Marina about 10 km, 15 min about 12 km, 17 min

These are free-flow figures, checked on 17 October 2026. Treat them as the quickest case. Our wedding day timeline shows how to add the buffer.

One&Only The Palm, Waldorf Astoria, Raffles and Jumeirah Zabeel Saray

These four also host weddings on the Palm. We have not confirmed each hotel’s exact approach, ballroom entrance or coach bay, and we do not guess them. Each venue’s events team sets the wedding drop-off. We confirm the point with you before the day and pass it to the driver.

Ask every venue the same questions:

  1. Where does the bride’s car stop, and is there a covered or screened entrance?
  2. Where does the car wait during the ceremony, and for how long?
  3. Where do guest vehicles load and unload?
  4. Is there a vehicle length limit for coaches?

Where do wedding cars drop off and wait?

Each hotel has its own arrival court, and the doorman team controls it. A wedding car should enter by the arrival the venue names, not by the first entrance the driver sees.

Give the venue the plate number, the driver’s name and the arrival window ahead of time. Assure then confirms the entrance with you on WhatsApp before the car moves. Decoration needs to fit this entrance too, see wedding car decoration.

Guest coaches on the Palm: size limits and loading points

For larger guest lists, a minibus or van is easier than a full-size coach on the Palm roads and hotel courts. Vehicle sizes depend on the hotel’s rules, which we could not source, so ask the events team before you book.

Plan one loading point at the hotel guests leave and one at the venue. Our wedding guest shuttle guide covers the loop in detail. Fleet vehicles are available through our partner network, subject to availability.

Drive times and the neighbouring venue areas

Other wedding districts sit on the same coast road. Umm Suqeim, near the Burj Al Arab, is about 12 km and 18 minutes from Atlantis The Palm, by the routing service. See the Umm Suqeim venues arrival guide. For Downtown venues, read the Downtown Dubai venues arrival guide.

Evening traffic on the trunk: how to time arrivals

We have no measured trunk figures. What we have is the TomTom Traffic Index for Dubai, which puts 10 km at about 26 minutes in the 2025 evening rush and names 5 pm the worst hour. A 7 pm ceremony on the crescent means the cars cross Sheikh Zayed Road in that window.

  • Leave the mainland by 4 pm for a 7 pm ceremony.
  • Add 30 to 45 minutes for the hotel queue.
  • Keep one car free to bring the couple out early if the schedule slips.

Salik gates on Sheikh Zayed Road charge AED 6 from 4 to 8 pm Monday to Saturday. See the Salik guide for details. Airport arrivals for guests use airport transfers.

Beach ceremonies: sand, golf carts and where the car can stop

Cars stop at the hotel drive or beach car park, and the last stretch is on foot, by hotel buggy or on a path the hotel lays. Which route is allowed is the hotel’s decision.

We could not source the legal status of a beach ceremony against court or church registration, or the public beach rules for photography and events. Ask the venue and your registrar, and do not treat a hotel ceremony as the legal marriage without checking. Then book a wedding car or a limousine service for the day. Start at the wedding transport hub.

Questions and answers

How do you get to a Palm Jumeirah wedding venue?

By car from Sheikh Zayed Road, onto the Palm trunk, then through to the crescent for Atlantis. There is one road in and out of the trunk for cars. The monorail runs from the Palm Gateway to Atlantis Aquaventure, so it is not a way to move a wedding party. Give your driver the hotel name.

How far is Atlantis The Palm from DXB, Downtown and the Marina?

From Terminal 3 about 36 km and 36 minutes without traffic, from Terminal 1 about 40 km and 39 minutes. From Downtown about 26 km and 27 minutes, and from Dubai Marina about 10 km and 15 minutes. Atlantis The Royal adds a few minutes. Wedding evenings add more.

Where do wedding cars drop off at Palm hotels?

At the hotel's own arrival court, under the canopy. The exact point for a bride or a ballroom entrance is set by each hotel's events team, and we have not confirmed it for every venue. Ask your venue for the wedding drop-off and waiting spot and pass it to your driver.

Can a coach or minibus take guests to Palm hotels?

Usually yes, but loading points and size limits are the hotel's rules and we could not source them for every venue. Ask the events team for the coach bay, the vehicle length and the waiting spot. Assure supplies minibuses and vans through our partner network, subject to availability.

How bad is evening traffic on the Palm trunk?

We have no measured Palm trunk figure. TomTom's 2025 Dubai data puts 10 km at about 26 minutes in the evening rush against 19 in the morning, with 5 pm the worst hour. Aim to reach the trunk by 4 pm for a 7 pm ceremony, and leave a 30 to 45 minute buffer.

Can the car stop on the sand for a beach ceremony?

No. Cars stop on the hotel drive or beach car park, and the couple walks the last stretch. Which beaches and paths allow vehicles is the hotel's decision. Ask the events team about the walk, golf buggies and any sand mats, and plan the dress and shoes for it.

Is there a toll to enter Palm Jumeirah?

We found no entry charge for the Palm itself. Salik gates on Sheikh Zayed Road, such as Al Safa and Al Barsha, charge AED 6 in weekday peaks and AED 4 off-peak and on Sundays. Gates are free from 1 am to 6 am.
