What does wedding transport in Dubai involve?
A Dubai wedding usually moves four groups of people, each with its own timing and pickup point. Plan them together, because the couple’s car, the family cars and the guest coaches all arrive at the same hotel entrance within an hour.
| Job | Who rides | Vehicles that fit | Seats per vehicle |
|---|---|---|---|
| The couple’s car | Bride, groom, sometimes one parent | Mercedes-Benz S-Class (Assure fleet); Rolls-Royce, Bentley or Mercedes-Maybach (partner network) | 3 in the rear |
| Family cars | Parents, bridesmaids, groomsmen | Cadillac Escalade or GMC Yukon (Assure fleet) | 6 |
| Guest shuttles | Guests moving between hotels and venues | Mercedes-Benz Sprinter (Assure fleet); Toyota Coaster or coach (partner network) | 13, 19, 22, 35 or 50 |
| Airport pickups | Family and guests flying in that week | Lexus ES 300h or Mercedes-Benz V-Class (Assure fleet) | 3 or 6 |
Partner vehicles fill any gap in our own fleet, when available. Every vehicle comes with a chauffeur.
The couple’s car takes most of the planning time, but guests take most of the vehicles. A party of 120 guests fills two 50-seat coaches and part of a third, or 40 sedans. Our wedding car hire page shows every car we arrange for the bride and groom.
Choosing the couple’s car: sedan, SUV, Rolls-Royce or van
Start from three limits and pick the look last.
- Passengers. A chauffeur sedan seats 3 in the rear. With a full gown, plan for the bride and one other person.
- The dress. A long train needs a wide door and a low sill to step over.
- The venue. A hotel forecourt takes any car. A narrow garden gate or a beach path may not take a coach.

| Car | Supplied by | What matters on the day |
|---|---|---|
| Rolls-Royce Ghost | Partner network | The rear door is power assisted and closes at a button on the outside handle. An umbrella sits in the door. |
| Rolls-Royce Cullinan | Partner network | Lowers itself by 40 mm for getting in. Its coach doors wrap low under the sill. |
| Mercedes-Maybach S-Class | Partner network | Power rear comfort doors, and rear seats that recline up to 43 degrees |
| Mercedes-Benz S-Class | Assure fleet | Long-wheelbase body, with separate rear climate zones as an option |
| Cadillac Escalade | Assure fleet | 6 passenger seats, so the couple and both mothers ride together |
A van suits family rather than the bride. The Mercedes-Benz V-Class has sliding doors on both sides, so grandparents step in from the kerb on either side of the road.
Children in the wedding cars
Page boys and flower girls follow the same rules as any passenger. Under the federal schedule, a child under 4 without a child seat costs AED 400. So does a child under 10, or shorter than 145 cm, in the front seat. Every passenger, the bride included, wears a seat belt: AED 400 and 4 black points if not. Tell us the children’s ages with the booking, so the right seats are fitted.
Our guide on how to choose a wedding car in Dubai compares doors, seats and heat model by model. Seats and boot space for every partner model sit on the ultra-luxury and exotic fleet page.
Booking it: what to confirm, what sets the price, and the rules on decoration and convoys
What to get in writing
- The exact car, a second choice and the colour.
- The first pickup time and address, and the last drop-off.
- How waiting at each venue counts towards the hours.
- Who supplies the decoration, and when the florist needs the car.
- Whether Salik tolls and venue parking are inside the figure.
- How extra hours are charged if the reception overruns.
What sets the price
The car, the hours and the date set most of a wedding quote. Legs to another emirate, decoration and long waits add to it. Assure publishes no wedding price list, and each booking is quoted for its own day. Our wedding car cost guide takes each factor in turn and shows how to spend less.
Decoration
The federal fines schedule sets AED 400 for a number plate that is not clear. Writing phrases or placing stickers on a vehicle without permission costs AED 500. Abu Dhabi Police also list breaking car decoration rules and fitting additions that impede visibility as violations. So keep ribbons and flowers off the plates, lights and glass, and ask the car’s owner before anything touches the paint.
Convoys
Three wedding cars heading to the same venue in normal traffic break no rule. The same schedule fines using vehicles in marches without permission at AED 500, 4 black points and 15 days’ impound for a light vehicle. Using the horn in a disturbing way costs AED 400 and 4 points. The UAE wedding convoy rules guide lists every related fine and what chauffeurs do instead.
Timing the day: drive times, Salik, traffic and the wedding season
Work back from the moment the bride must be at the aisle. Then add the drive, a margin for traffic and 10 minutes at the entrance for the dress and the photographer.
| From | To | Distance | Without traffic |
|---|---|---|---|
| Downtown Dubai (Burj Khalifa) | Madinat Jumeirah, Umm Suqeim | 15 km | 16 min |
| Downtown Dubai | Atlantis The Palm | 25 km | 27 min |
| Dubai Marina | Atlantis The Palm | 11 km | 16 min |
| DXB | Madinat Jumeirah | 31 km | 38 min |
| Downtown Dubai | Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi | 146 km | 1 h 35 min |
| Downtown Dubai | Ras Al Khaimah city | 109 km | 1 h 20 min |
These are free-flow times from OSRM on OpenStreetMap roads. On a weekday evening, plan the 16-minute run to Madinat Jumeirah at 40 minutes or more.
A sample day at Madinat Jumeirah
The bride gets ready in Downtown Dubai and the groom in Dubai Marina. Guests stay at one hotel in each area. The ceremony starts at 17:00 and the reception follows at the same venue.
| Time | Vehicle | Run |
|---|---|---|
| 15:15 | Bride’s car | Arrives at the Downtown hotel for the florist |
| 15:30 | Coach 1 | Downtown hotel to Madinat Jumeirah, 15 km |
| 15:45 | Coach 2 and the groom’s car | Dubai Marina to Madinat Jumeirah, 8 km |
| 16:05 | Bride’s car | Leaves Downtown with the bride and her father |
| 16:45 | Bride’s car | At the entrance, 15 minutes for the dress and photos |
| 17:45 | Bride’s car | Takes the couple to photos at Burj Al Arab, next door |
| 23:30 | Both coaches | Return loops to the two hotels |
| 23:45 | Bride’s car | Takes the couple to their hotel |
That day keeps the decorated car from 15:15 to about midnight, close to 9 hours, plus one car for the groom and two coaches. After its first run, the groom’s car can go back for the parents.
Salik on a wedding afternoon
Since 31 January 2025, each Salik gate charges AED 6 from 6 am to 10 am and 4 pm to 8 pm, Monday to Saturday. Other hours cost AED 4, and 1 am to 6 am is free. A 5 pm ceremony and a 7 pm reception both sit inside the evening peak. The Salik toll guide shows where each gate stands.
The wedding season
NOAA’s daily readings at Dubai International average highs of about 26 to 32°C from November to March. From June to September they average 41 to 43°C, with lows above 30°C. Outdoor ceremonies suit the cool months. In summer, ask for the car to be cooled before the bride steps out. Our guide to the best time to visit Dubai has the month-by-month table.
Arriving at the venue: the Palm, Umm Suqeim, Downtown, beach, desert, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah
Palm Jumeirah

Atlantis The Palm and Jumeirah Zabeel Saray stand on the crescent at the far end of the island. From Downtown, Atlantis is about 25 km and Zabeel Saray about 28 km. Ask the hotel’s events team which entrance the bride uses, and whether coaches stop at a separate bay.
Umm Suqeim
Madinat Jumeirah and Burj Al Arab sit side by side on the Umm Suqeim beachfront. Both are about 15 to 16 km from Downtown and 8 to 10 km from Dubai Marina. A car can take the bride to one and the couple to photos at the other in the same hour.
Downtown Dubai
Armani Hotel Dubai sits inside the Burj Khalifa, so a Downtown bride can be minutes from her ceremony. Check the date against the event calendar first. On New Year’s Eve, Emaar allows no vehicles into Downtown once the road closures start.
Beach venues
Cars stop at the hotel forecourt or lobby, not on the sand. Ask how the bride gets from the car to the aisle: a paved path, a buggy or a walk in flat shoes. Sea wind lifts veils, so plan the last stretch with the photographer.
Desert venues
A Rolls-Royce or a coach stays on paved roads. Ask the camp whether its access road is tarmac all the way to the gate. If it is not, the camp needs its own 4x4 transfer for the last stretch, and your cars wait at the tarmac.
Abu Dhabi

Emirates Palace is about 146 km from Downtown Dubai. Couples who marry in a civil ceremony in Abu Dhabi go to the Civil Family Court in the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department’s main building, next to Zayed Sports City. That is about 133 km from Downtown Dubai, roughly 1 hour 30 minutes without traffic. The Judicial Department accepts online applications from tourists and non-residents.
On the coast road, the Ghantoot toll gate has charged AED 4 per crossing at any hour since 4 May 2026. Trips that start in Dubai run under Assure’s RTA licence, through our Dubai to Abu Dhabi transfer. Hotel loops that start and end inside Abu Dhabi need a partner licensed there.
Ras Al Khaimah
Ras Al Khaimah city is about 109 km from Downtown Dubai, around 1 hour 20 minutes. The same licence rule applies: a car from Dubai can take the couple there and back, while local runs inside the emirate need a partner licensed in Ras Al Khaimah. Ask us which partner covers your dates.
Which traditions change the plan? Emirati, Arab, Indian, Pakistani and Western weddings
- Emirati and Arab weddings. If the women’s and men’s celebrations are held in separate halls or at different hours, each side needs its own car plan. The bride’s car may run late into the night, so book it to the hall’s real finishing time.
- Indian weddings. If the baraat forms near the venue and walks to the entrance, ask the venue where it may form and where the cars wait meanwhile. A procession on a public road needs permission first.
- Pakistani weddings. Mehndi, baraat and walima often fall on separate days. Book each day as its own set of cars and hours.
- Western weddings. The groom arrives first, the bride last. After the ceremony, the couple ride together to the photos and the reception.
Moving guests: shuttles, airport pickups and destination-wedding travel
Shuttles between hotels and the venue
Count guests per hotel, then size the vehicles:
| Guests at one hotel | Vehicle | Supplied by |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 6 | Mercedes-Benz V-Class | Assure fleet |
| 7 to 13 | Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, 13 seats | Assure fleet |
| 14 to 19 | Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, 19 seats | Assure fleet |
| 20 to 22 | Toyota Coaster | Partner network, subject to availability |
| 23 to 35 | 35-seat coach | Partner network, subject to availability |
| 36 to 50 | 50-seat coach | Partner network, subject to availability |
Above 50, combine vehicles: 70 guests at one hotel fit a 50-seat coach and a 19-seat Sprinter with one seat spare. A coach running a loop from two hotels can make a second trip if the hotels are close to the venue. Book the loops through our bus and coach rental page, with a return run after the last dance.
Airport pickups
Guests flying in are met in the arrivals hall by a chauffeur holding a board with their name, and VIP guests are welcomed personally. At Dubai International (DXB) there is no pick-up area at Arrivals, so the car waits in the terminal car park. Send the flight numbers with the wedding request, and the pickups join the same booking.
Destination weddings
Guests coming from abroad should check the UAE’s entry rules for their passport well before the date. For 12 guests on the same flight, one 13-seat Sprinter replaces four sedans at the terminal.
Photos, proposals and the honeymoon
Photo stops work at hotel forecourts, venue gardens and car parks, with the owner’s agreement. Never on the hard shoulder: stopping in the middle of the road without a justified reason costs AED 1,000 and 6 black points. Each stop adds to the booked hours, so send the list with the booking.
For a proposal, the same rule applies: pick a spot where the car can park legally, and book the car for the drive there and the dinner after.
After the wedding, a car with driver by the hour or the day suits a honeymoon in the UAE. The drive from Dubai to Abu Dhabi city is about 139 km, so a day there with a chauffeur spends about 3 hours on the road.
Beach and western-style weddings: what changes for transport
- Heels and sand. Keep flat shoes in the car for the walk from the forecourt to the sand.
- Sunset ceremonies. Check the sunset time for your date, then set the bride’s pickup from it.
- The groom’s car. It goes first, with the best man and the rings, and is released once the groom is at the aisle.
- The send-off. If the couple leave by car after the reception, book that last run now, so the car is not released before the send-off. Salik is free from 1 am.
Wedding transport checklist: what to do and when
Three months or more before
- Fix the date and the venues, then ask for the couple’s car. Partner models are confirmed for a date, not in general.
- Count guests per hotel, and note anyone with limited mobility.
One month before
- Agree the photo stops with the photographer and each venue.
- Confirm who supplies the decoration and when the florist needs the car.
- Collect the flight numbers of guests who want an airport pickup.
One week before
- Send final timings and every pickup address.
- Give the ages of any children riding in the cars, for child seats.
- Check the date against any planned road closures near the venue.
The day before
- Put water, tissues and flat shoes in the bride’s car.
- Give the planner or the best man the chauffeurs’ contact numbers.
How does Assure handle a wedding booking on WhatsApp?
Send one message to +971 56 684 8148 with:
- The date, the venues and the time of each event.
- Every pickup address.
- The car you want for the couple, a second choice and the colour.
- Guest numbers per hotel and any airport arrivals.
- Decoration: who brings it, and the florist’s arrival time.
Partner cars are checked with the partner for your date before the quote is final. The quote comes back in the same chat, and changes are made there too. Assure has 10+ years in business, is RTA licensed and answers WhatsApp and phone 24/7. Our guide on booking a chauffeur on WhatsApp shows what makes a request quick to quote.
