Etihad Arena is the indoor venue on Yas Bay, the waterfront district of Yas Island. It holds 18,000 guests and runs concerts, comedy and UFC fight nights. Most guests from Dubai spend longer on the road than inside, so the drive and the pickup point matter as much as the seat.
Where is Etihad Arena?
The arena stands on the Yas Bay Waterfront, next to Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island and the Pier71 strip of restaurants. A 3 km boardwalk runs along the water in front of it.
Yas Marina Circuit is on the same island. ADNEC Centre is about 25 km further on, in the city. The arena’s own page puts it 7 minutes from Zayed International Airport.
How does parking work at Yas Bay?
The arena’s directions page names five car parks. Each one opens a map pin.
| Car park | Who it is for |
|---|---|
| P1-A | Suite, Royal, VIP and Platinum ticket holders |
| P1-B | Suite, Royal, VIP and Platinum ticket holders |
| C37 | Public parking, and the taxi pickup point |
| Lifestyle | Public parking |
| Multi-storey | Public parking |
The arena says parking zones can change from one event to the next, and tells guests to check their tickets. If your booking names a car park, use that one.
Yas Bay parking is not free by default. The Yas Bay Waterfront page gives 3 free hours to dine-in guests and 6 to gym and beach guests, both with validation. Charges apply otherwise, and the page does not publish the rate. Check the sign at the entrance before you park.
Where do taxis and chauffeur cars drop off?

The arena’s FAQ places the drop-off and rideshare zones near the entrances. C37 doubles as the taxi pickup point after the show. Abu Dhabi taxis can be pre-booked on 600 53 53 53.
No separate set-down point for private cars appears on the arena’s pages, as of 17 October 2026. Your chauffeur uses the drop-off zone the marshals open on the night. Before you go in, agree the pickup spot for the end of the show, away from the C37 taxi queue.
How long does it take to get from Dubai to Etihad Arena?
Distances below come from OSRM road data, timed for an empty road on 17 October 2026.
| From | Road distance | Without traffic |
|---|---|---|
| Dubai Marina | about 96 km | about 1 hour |
| Palm Jumeirah | about 102 km | about 1 hour 5 minutes |
| Downtown Dubai | about 115 km | about 1 hour 15 minutes |
| Dubai International (DXB) | about 131 km | about 1 hour 35 minutes |
| Zayed International (AUH) | about 21 km | about 25 minutes |

Yas Island’s own getting-here page says 75 minutes from Dubai airport. The road is the E11 towards Abu Dhabi, turning off for Yas Island before the city. Our Dubai to Abu Dhabi transfer uses the same road, and the guide to getting from Dubai to Abu Dhabi compares the bus, a taxi and a private car.
Two toll rules apply on the way:
- Ghantoot gate: AED 4 each time you pass, at any hour, in force since 4 May 2026 on Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Street.
- Abu Dhabi’s other Darb gates charge from 7am to 9am and 3pm to 7pm, Monday to Saturday. They are free on Sundays and public holidays.
For a weekday show, we suggest leaving Dubai Marina about 2 hours before doors open. That allows for the 1 hour drive, the evening peak and the walk from the drop-off zone.
Getting back to Dubai after a late show
The return is the hard part of an arena night. Three things narrow your options after the encore:
- Yas Express stops at 9pm. The free island shuttle runs from 9am to 9pm, so it has finished before most evening shows end.
- Everyone leaves at once. An 18,000-seat crowd reaches the C37 taxi point within the same hour.
- No re-entry. Tickets are single entry, so you cannot step out to find your car and come back.

A car booked by the hour solves most of this. The driver drops you, waits nearby and comes to the agreed spot when you message. A car with driver also suits dinner at Pier71 before the doors open. After 7pm the peak-hour Darb gates are free, but the Ghantoot gate still charges on the way home.
Return trips that start and end in Dubai run under Assure’s RTA licence. A pickup that starts at a Yas Island hotel needs a partner car licensed in Abu Dhabi, so it is on request. See our limousines in Abu Dhabi for what we can arrange in the capital.
Which events are held at Etihad Arena?
Its listings mix music, comedy and combat sport. In October 2026 the arena’s home page showed these shows.
- UFC 333, Volkanovski vs Evloev
- Mariah Carey’s Christmastime
- Comedy from Russell Peters, Mo Amer and Maz Jobrani
- Real American Freestyle Abu Dhabi
Dates and door times sit on each event’s own page, and the arena says opening times differ by event. Our UAE events calendar tracks the big dates in both emirates. The events chauffeur service covers arena nights alongside exhibitions and sport.
UFC Abu Dhabi fight nights at Etihad Arena
The UFC lists UFC 333, Volkanovski vs Evloev, for Saturday 24 October 2026 at Etihad Arena. The event header puts the main card at 2 pm US Eastern time, which is 10 pm in the UAE. Confirm the final time on ufc.com in fight week.
A late main card changes the plan. The return to Dubai Marina takes about 1 hour without traffic, so you reach home well after midnight. Book the car for the whole evening rather than a fixed drop-off.
Concert night checklist
- Open your ticket in the Yas Island app. Tickets are tied to the buyer’s account and cannot be collected by anyone else.
- Bring a valid photo ID. Alcohol is served only to guests aged 21 and over.
- Carry small items only. Large bags, banners and flags are not allowed, and there is no cloakroom.
- Check the car park on your ticket: P1-A and P1-B are for premium tickets.
- Agree the pickup point and the expected finish time with your driver.
- Save the driver’s WhatsApp number and the pickup spot before you go in.
For a group of 6, a Cadillac Escalade, GMC Yukon or Mercedes-Benz V-Class from the Assure fleet keeps everyone in one car. For a birthday night, our limousine service can add a Rolls-Royce, available through our partner network, subject to availability.
Yas Island fills up again in early December for Formula 1. Our Abu Dhabi Grand Prix visitor guide covers race weekend, and the Grand Prix chauffeur page covers cars to the circuit. For exhibitions in the city, read our guide to ADNEC parking and drop-off.
