How do you reach DIFC, and where does the car stop?
DIFC sits just off Sheikh Zayed Road, between the Trade Centre area and Downtown Dubai. From the Terminal 3 area at DXB it is about 12 km and about 13 minutes by car without traffic. Cars stop at the building named by your host, and the visitor car parks sit in Gate District, Gate Village and Gate Avenue.
This guide is for office managers, assistants and travel desks booking cars for banks and financial companies. It covers the places inside the district, the two metro stations, parking and valet, and what to send the chauffeur. We name only what DIFC publishes. We found no published map of drop-off bays, so we have not invented one.

What are the main places inside DIFC?
DIFC groups its visitor areas into the Gate District, Gate Village and Gate Avenue. They sit side by side, and you can walk between them. The table shows which metro station DIFC recommends for each, and what it publishes on parking.
| Place | Nearest metro, per DIFC | Parking, per DIFC |
|---|---|---|
| Gate Building | Emirates Tower | Not listed separately |
| Gate District | Financial Centre, then a walk through DIFC | First hour free, then hourly rates |
| Gate Village | Emirates Towers, about a 7-minute walk | First hour free, then hourly rates |
| Gate Avenue | Financial Centre, a short walk | First hour free once a day, then AED 10 an hour |
| DIFC Courts | Not stated by DIFC; Emirates Towers station is about 280 m away in a straight line | Level 3, Precinct Building 5 (South), Gate District |
The 280 m figure is a straight line on OpenStreetMap, not a walking time. The pedestrian walkways may be longer, and the heat matters in summer.
Which metro station should a visitor use?
DIFC is served by two Dubai Metro Red Line stations, Emirates Tower and Financial Centre. For the Gate Building, DIFC advises Emirates Tower. For Gate Avenue and Gate District it advises Financial Centre. Our Dubai Metro guide covers fares and the card system.
Metro suits a light-luggage visitor with time to spare. A car suits a guest with documents, a tight schedule or several meetings in a day. Some visitors combine the two, taking the metro in and calling a car for the way out.

How does visitor parking work?
Visitor parking at Gate District, Gate Village, Gate Avenue and Innovation One is barrier-free and ticketless. A company called Parkonic manages it, and the fee is charged automatically through Salik, with on-site payment machines as a backup. Our guide to Salik tolls explains the tag and the account.
DIFC lists the first hour as free, once a day. After that, the rate depends on the area and the time of day.
- Gate Avenue: AED 10 an hour after the free hour, and more free time with a minimum AED 75 spend, validated at guest services in Gate Avenue 1 or 4.
- Gate District: AED 25 an hour on weekdays in the daytime and AED 20 an hour at weekends, on DIFC’s Gate District page.
- Gate Village: AED 25 an hour on weekdays from 06:00 to 18:00, and AED 20 an hour at other times.
DIFC’s own pages differ on the weekday evening rate in Gate District, so check the live page on the day. Gulf News reported paid parking as new in January 2026, so older guides may be wrong. For a car that waits all day, the hourly fee adds up. Our Dubai parking guide covers other districts.
Where does valet parking operate?
DIFC lists valet hours by building. In Gate District, Building 2 runs 10:00 to 03:00, Building 3 runs 08:00 to 03:00 and Building 5 runs 07:00 to 19:00. In Gate Village, Building 6 runs 12:00 to 03:00 and Building 8 runs 24 hours. DIFC lists a standard valet fee and a validation rule for retailers and restaurants on the same page.
Valet suits a guest who arrives in their own car. It does not replace a chauffeur, who stays with the vehicle and moves it when needed. If your guest arrives by chauffeur, the car usually drops at the building entrance and then waits nearby.

How far is DIFC from the places you will visit next?
These times use OSRM on OpenStreetMap data, with no traffic, starting from the DIFC Courts address in the Gate District. Distances are about.
| From DIFC to | Distance | Time without traffic |
|---|---|---|
| DXB, Terminal 3 area | about 12 km | about 12 minutes |
| Dubai Courts, Umm Hurair | about 7 km | about 9 minutes |
| Zayed International Airport | about 118 km | about 78 minutes |
| ADGM, Al Maryah Island | about 142 km | about 90 minutes |
| Courts Department RAK | about 105 km | about 76 minutes |
Add time in the weekday peaks. Dubai’s worst hour is 5 pm, according to the TomTom Traffic Index, and our guide to Dubai rush hour shows where it bites. A same-day trip to Abu Dhabi is covered in our guide to DIFC to ADGM in one day. For a court visit, see the courts guide for visiting lawyers.
What does an airport-to-meeting arrival look like?
Take a visiting banker landing at DXB for a 10:00 meeting in the Gate District. The drive is about 13 minutes without traffic, so the time sink is the airport. Our guide to the Dubai airport arrival process shows where the delays fall: immigration, baggage, and the walk to the car.
A realistic plan lands the evening before, sleeps near the district, and walks or takes a short drive to the building on the day. If the guest must land the same morning, give the meeting a 90-minute buffer after the scheduled landing. That is our own planning allowance, not a published figure.
Send the chauffeur the flight number, the building name and the host’s phone. The car then waits at arrivals with a name board and drives to the Gate District entrance. For a group, agree one drop point so nobody walks through the district with luggage in the heat.
What should you send the chauffeur?
A chauffeur cannot guess which tower you need. Send these facts the day before, and again on the morning of the visit.
- The building name, for example Gate Building or Gate District Building 5, and the floor.
- The host’s name and a mobile number for the lobby.
- The meeting start time, and the time you want to be at the door.
- The number of guests and any luggage or documents.
- Whether the car waits nearby or returns at a set time.
- A call time, such as 10 minutes before the meeting ends.
Assure takes these facts when a firm books for several visitors on one account. Our page on corporate transport explains how monthly accounts work.
What we could not confirm
We left out a list of kerbside drop-off bays, because DIFC’s pages do not publish one. We also left out valet prices beyond what DIFC lists, the walking time from Financial Centre station, and entry rules for each building. Ask your host’s reception for the entrance, and check the DIFC parking page for the current rates.
