Where are Dubai’s main business districts?
Most of Dubai’s offices follow one road. Sheikh Zayed Road (E11) runs south-west from Trade Centre roundabout past the main towers.

- DIFC (Dubai International Financial Centre): banks, law firms, funds. Gate Village and The Gate are the usual drop-offs.
- Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC): exhibitions and conferences, next to the Trade Centre roundabout. See the DWTC parking and drop-off guide.
- Business Bay: towers on the Dubai Canal, close to Downtown.
- Dubai Internet City and Media City: tech and media, on the Marina side of Al Barsha.
- Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA): logistics and industry, at the south-western end of the city.
How long does it take from DXB to DIFC, DWTC, Business Bay and JAFZA?
These are typical road figures from a mapping service. Treat them as ranges, not promises.

| From DXB | Road distance | Off-peak | At rush hour |
|---|---|---|---|
| DIFC | about 15 km | 20 to 30 min | 35 to 55 min |
| DWTC | about 14 km | 20 to 30 min | 35 to 55 min |
| Business Bay | about 12 km | 15 to 25 min | 30 to 50 min |
| Dubai Internet City | about 38 km | 30 to 40 min | 50 to 80 min |
| JAFZA | about 50 km | 40 to 55 min | 60 to 90 min |
Your pickup is in the arrivals hall of your terminal. For a Terminal 3 arrival, see DXB Terminal 3 arrivals and our airport transfers page.
How to plan a day of meetings across the city
Group meetings by corridor. Do DIFC, DWTC and Business Bay in one block, then travel to Internet City or JAFZA as a separate leg.

- Put the south-west trip first thing, when Sheikh Zayed Road is lightest in that direction, or after 20:00.
- Keep 30 minutes between meetings in different districts.
- Give your driver the tower name, the entrance and the host’s phone number.
- Avoid a 17:00 to 19:00 crossing if you can. See rush hour in Dubai.
Metro, taxi or chauffeur for a business trip?
The Metro Red Line has stations at Financial Centre, World Trade Centre and Business Bay, and it ends the day at a fixed time. A taxi covers one-off hops. A chauffeur makes sense once you have three or more stops, a laptop and papers to carry, or a client in the car.
Whether to pay by the hour or per trip is covered in hourly vs transfer chauffeur, and the pricing factors are in what a chauffeur costs in Dubai. Our chauffeur service page lists the car classes.
Day trips to ADGM and ADNEC in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi city is about 140 km from Dubai, roughly 1 h 30 to 2 h by road each way. DIFC to ADGM on Al Maryah Island is longer, about 160 km. Toll gates apply on the way: Salik in Dubai and Darb into Abu Dhabi, covered in Salik tolls in Dubai.
For ADNEC events, read ADNEC drop-off and parking. The route page for Dubai to Abu Dhabi transfers has the fixed-trip details.
Expense receipts, VAT invoices and company billing
Ask for the invoice format before the trip, not after. A corporate account means one monthly invoice listing each trip, which suits finance teams. How that works at Assure is in how corporate chauffeur accounts work and on the corporate transport page. For the VAT wording an invoice must carry, check with the Federal Tax Authority.
What an executive chauffeur should do that a taxi will not
- Track your flight and wait after landing.
- Hold the car at the entrance during a meeting, with no re-booking.
- Handle Salik and parking.
- Change the plan when a meeting overruns, with a message to the dispatcher.
Which district should you stay in for a business trip?
Stay near the first meeting of the trip. DIFC or Downtown for finance, Business Bay for mid-size offices, Internet City for tech. If your week is at JAFZA, a hotel on the Marina side shortens the commute. For local manners at the meeting, see business etiquette in Dubai and free zone visits.
Roadshows: several meetings or cities in one day
A roadshow across Dubai and Abu Dhabi needs a fixed schedule and a car that stays with you. Send the list of venues and times on WhatsApp. We confirm the car class and a plan that allows for the gap between each stop. Read the wider hiring a chauffeur in Dubai guide for how booking works.
