How many events does a Pakistani wedding in Dubai have?
A typical Pakistani wedding in Dubai has five or six events over two to four days: a dholki, a mehndi, the baraat with the nikah, the rukhsati and a walima. Some families add a separate dinner for the bride’s side. They rarely share a venue or a start time.
So transport becomes a set of runs, not one booking:
| Event | Who moves | Plan for |
|---|---|---|
| Dholki | Close family, at home or in a hotel suite | Vans, early evening |
| Mehndi | Both families and friends, often 100 or more | Coaches and a late return loop |
| Baraat and nikah | Groom’s party; the bride’s family | Groom’s car and family cars |
| Rukhsati | Bride and groom | One decorated chauffeur car |
| Walima | Both families, the biggest guest list | Coaches, vans, car for the couple |
Our wedding transport hub shows how the pieces fit.
Mehndi and dholki: getting guests there and home late
Mehndi nights run late. Guests arrive in the early evening and many leave after midnight. The dholki is smaller and closer to home.

The late return is the problem. Dubai Airports lists the Metro Red Line as running 5 am to midnight Monday to Thursday and Saturday, to 1 am on Friday, and 8 am to midnight on Sunday. After that, guests without a car need a shuttle.
Plan the return as a loop with a fixed last departure, and print the time on the invitation or the guest WhatsApp group. The wedding guest shuttle guide works out how many vehicles a loop needs. For groups of 12 to 19, see our minibus rental options, and for 35 or 50 seats the bus rental page.
The baraat: the groom’s car and the family cars
The groom arrives by car at the venue, with the family cars behind and the dancing inside the grounds. That matters because a convoy of decorated cars on public roads is a march, and the traffic schedule fines marches without permission AED 500, with 4 black points and 15 days’ impound.

What works instead:
- The groom’s car: a Mercedes-Benz S-Class or BMW 7 Series from Assure’s fleet, or a Rolls-Royce through our partner network, subject to availability. See wedding car hire.
- Family cars: 2 to 4 sedans or one V-Class (6 seats) for parents and siblings, arriving 10 minutes ahead.
- Parking: cars drop at the entrance and leave before the dhol starts.
For the cars, the limousine service page lists the classes. The Indian baraat guide covers horses, vintage cars and dhol rules, which apply to a Pakistani baraat too.
Where does the nikah happen: the venue, a mosque or the court?
Families hold the nikah in the wedding hall, at home or at a mosque. We could not confirm the current registration steps for expatriates in Dubai, so we do not describe them here. Ask your venue and the officiant, and check the Dubai Courts or the relevant authority for what you must carry.
For transport, what matters is the address and the time. Send both to Assure. A nikah at a mosque with the family driving over from a hotel needs a drop point on the street; a nikah in the venue needs only a car at the entrance.
Mixed-faith families should read the guide to church, temple and gurudwara wedding transport for the other venues.
The rukhsati car: decoration and the send-off
The rukhsati is the bride’s departure, so the car is the last thing the family sees. Plan it as its own job:
- Car: one chauffeur car, kept near the exit with the engine off, driver on hand.
- Decoration: roses and ribbons on the bonnet and handles. Keep the windscreen, windows and number plate clear. The traffic schedule fines an unclear number plate AED 400 and writing or stickers without permission AED 500.
- Doors: a chauffeur who opens the rear door, so the bride’s dress and dupatta are clear of it.
- Route: the destination address and a time, usually a hotel suite or the groom’s home.
The wedding car decoration guide lists what the rules allow.
Walima: the last day’s transport
The walima is the largest dinner, so it needs the biggest vehicle plan. Both families attend, and guests who flew in for the mehndi are now ready to fly home, some the same night.
- Run the shuttle loop as on the mehndi night, with a fixed last departure.
- Add airport runs for the next morning. Dubai Airports asks passengers to arrive at least 3 hours before departure, so a 9 am flight means a car at 5:30 am.
- Keep one chauffeur car for the couple’s parents, who leave first and stay last.
Guests flying in from Pakistan: DXB, Sharjah or DWC?
Guests land at one of three airports. We could not confirm which airline uses which terminal today, so read the terminal from the e-ticket.

| Airport | Notes |
|---|---|
| DXB | Three terminals. Dubai Airports has no pick-up area at arrivals; the chauffeur holds a name board in the hall |
| Sharjah (SHJ) | About 15 km from central Dubai, and the home hub of Air Arabia |
| Al Maktoum (DWC) | Nearer to Dubai Marina than DXB; farther from Downtown |
Our Sharjah Airport to Dubai guide covers the drive and the arrivals hall. For flight sheets, name boards and grouped arrivals, see airport pickups for wedding guests and our airport transfers page.
Visas depend on the passport. For GDRFA’s single-entry tourist visa, Pakistani nationals add the home national identity card to the photo and passport copy. Passports need 6 months’ validity from entry. Read the UAE visas explained guide, and check with the airline or the official ICP and GDRFA services before booking.
